Rev. Alice Roth
Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care
Rev. Alice Roth has been Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care for Jordan UCC since Sept. 2012.
Born and raised in Allentown, PA, Pastor Alice has spent most of her life in her family’s Chew Street home across from the Allentown Fairgrounds and is a graduate of William Allen High School. Her father was a biology teacher at Nazareth Area High School. Her mother was an office manager with Phoebe Ministries for several years, and Pastor Alice has a brother who lives in Arizona.
Throughout most of her life, Pastor Alice was a member of St. John’s UCC in downtown Allentown. It was at that church where she first felt a kind of “call,” but did not know what exactly it was. Her search took her on many “detours” in which she worked as a secretary, occupational therapist, warehouse worker, and substitute teacher. In the year 2000, she realized what her calling meant.
She enrolled in the Moravian Theological Seminary in Bethlehem, PA. After completing her studies, she served as Pastor for Salem UCC and as interim pastor at St. John’s UCC before her “call” lead her to Jordan UCC.
Pastor Alice’s educational background includes studies at Lehigh Carbon Community College, Kutztown University, and Cedar Crest College.
Jacqueline R. Kuba, Organist and Director of Music, oversees Jordan UCC’s music program and directs the adult, bell, and praise choirs. She is a music educator and adjudicators who served Lehigh Valley area churches, public schools, and private schools for most of her life.
Jackie earned her undergraduate degree in music from Muhlenberg College, a teaching certification from Moravian College, a master’s degree in Integrative Theology from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, and has conducted post-graduate work at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J.
Jackie has taught music in the Tamaqua Area, Bethlehem Area, and Southern Lehigh school districts and at Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA. She maintains a teaching studio in her home in Lehighton, PA, and travels each spring as a national adjudicator for the National Guild of Piano Teachers.
Jackie is a member of the United Church of Christ Musicians organization, the Lehigh Valley chapter of the American Guide of Organists, and the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians.
