Safety Guidelines

TO ALL MEMBERS OF JORDAN UCC AND THE COMMUNITY –
JORDAN UCC’S GUIDE TO SAFELY WORSHIPPING INDOORS TOGETHER (Starting October 3rd)

Please join us for indoor services on Sunday mornings at 8:00 am or 10:30 am in the Sanctuary.  We are making every effort to continue to provide a safe and welcoming worship experience.

If you are not comfortable in the indoor group setting just yet, we will continue to provide an online streaming service at 10:30am on Vimeo, YouTube and Facebook.

For everyone’s safety we ask that you abide by a few simple guidelines:

While masks are not required, we encourage anyone who would feel more comfortable wearing one to continue to do so; especially while inside Jordan UCC.

Observe social distancing when possible…keep some distance between you and the next person, either seated or in gathering and entrance spaces (family members being the exception).

Hand sanitizer and extra disposable masks will be made available.

We will not be taking attendance for contact tracing as we have in the recent past.

Ushers, consistory members and members of the safety team will be on hand to assist you in every way. As you enter you will be given a bulletin.  The bulletin will also be available on our website and can be printed at home if you are more comfortable doing so.

Pews are no longer blocked off, but please attempt to space yourself out from the next attendees.

We encourage anyone who is concerned about larger indoor crowds to attend the 8am service.

A thorough cleaning and disinfecting will occur between the two services each Sunday, including pews, handrails and all other critical surfaces.

Offering will be taken at the entrance/exit; offering plates will not be passed during the service.

There will be no passing of the peace, and we will not be using nametags at this time.

Our parlor is available for additional seating.

The elevator is available and will be staffed for operation.

Communion, when applicable, will continue to be provided in a disposable, self-contained individual serving for each attendee.

Hymns will continue to be printed in the bulletin, and we welcome back our choir to lead us in song.

The restrooms outside of the Social Hall will be open.  Please make every attempt to use them before or after the service as needed, rather than during the service.

We look forward to seeing you each Sunday, whether in person or online, and we appreciate your help in keeping the safety of others in mind during our services.
