Where Love Is What We Do

The gospel of Mark closes with these words of Jesus: “Go into all the world, and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” (16:15). That’s what the first followers of Jesus did, and the impact of the kingdom has grown larger across the generations.

We in our day must do the same, and Jordan UCC is certainly a mission-driven church! A sizeable portion of our budget is directed to mission partners locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Working through our denomination’s Global Ministries, we help support mission personal across the world, engaging in refugee resettlement, long term development, education, health care, disaster relief, among numerous other ministries. We sponsor a child, collect back packs and school supplies, food for local pantries, just to name a few of the ways we offer help to those in need …. all in the name of Christ.

Many of our church members give of their time to tutor children at the Neighborhood Center; make breakfast for the homeless as part of the Jubilee Ministry; and plan for housing families in need at local churches through Family Promise. We want to proclaim the gospel not just with words, but also in acts of love and service to others.

There’s always room for you to help us make a difference for God (and for good) in our community and beyond.

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Here I am, send me”
(Isaiah 6:8)
