The dedication of our staff & leadership shows is crucial for the success of Jordan’s vision. While there are many members who give of themselves tirelessly, shown are those who have been called to oversee the operations and programs and maintaining of our facilities and properties.

Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith, Pastor
On March 17, 2002 the congregation elected to call the Reverend Dr. David Charles Smith to the Jordan Pulpit as its 15th installed pastor. With his arrival Jordan has enjoyed a period of growth and revitalized ministry.

Dr. Smith was born and raised in New Tripoli, PA. Upon his graduation from the Princeton Theological Seminary, he moved to Florida where he served two churches. In 1997, he moved back to the Lehigh Valley with his family to serve Grace UCC, in Allentown. Dr. Smith, his wife Laurie, and their children: Josiah, Jordan and Jonah now reside in the parsonage.

Rev Bieber & Pastor Harting,
Visitation Pastor & Pastor Emeritus
Joining Jordan in 1998 with his wife Sylvia, Rev. Wallace “Wally” Bieber was enjoying his recent retirement from St. Stephens in Lebanon, PA. Endearing himself to this congregation by his friendly and caring attitude to all, he was called to serve as the part-time Associate Pastor of Visitation in 2001.

Both Wally and Sylvia have actively involved themselves in the life of Jordan. Rev. Bieber is a welcome addition to Jordan’s ministry – whether in pastoral care visitation or preaching a sermon. His services are much needed and appreciated.

Having served 47 years in the Christian ministry, almost 30 of these years with Jordan, upon his retirement in 1983, Pastor George Harding was awarded the title of Pastor Emeritus. This was an overwhelming honor for him and one well deserved.

During his pastorate, he introduced extensive innovative programs, many of which continue to flourish in the life of Jordan. Some of these include Harvest Home, Hanging of the Greens, and the Christmas Eve Service. Long before the concept of open space was a buzz words in the sprawling suburbs, he introduced Camp Jordan as open space, recreational areas for softball and volleyball, an attractive area for picnics, and the creation of Lookout Hill as a setting for outdoor worship during the summer months.

Pastor Harding was a diligent visitor who set a priority of making an annual visit to every home within the parish. He also instituted the Perpetual Memorial Fund and the Home Benevolence Fund.

He and his wife Sara continue to play a vital role in service and leadership and prove to be a crucial source of foundational guidance within the life of Jordan.
